Makeover of 1930’s furniture for a customer

Having inherited several pieces of 1930’s bedroom furniture from his mother, Trevor contacted us to find out whether we would be able to paint them for him. He thought they could benefit from a Chalk Paint™ finish. They were solid pieces of furniture and stylish too but needed to fit in with a more modern decor. Having seen images and sizes of the pieces we were able to quote for them and discuss colour options. Some pieces were to be painted in our workshop and the larger pieces in situ at Trevor’s house.
After an initial discussion we chose Country Grey Chalk Paint™. Country Grey which is a soft neutral colour and perfect to use as a backdrop, enabling other colours to be introduced into the room. The Deco style lines on the wardrobes and dressing table were accentuated with dark wax to emphasise the shape and all pieces were finished with clear wax.
We even painted an old yellowed pine curtain rail and rings in Country Grey too, which helped to bring the scheme together. Trevor was delighted with the finish.
The whole room was finished off with beautiful made to measure fabric drum lampshades. Chosen from a selection of fabrics in the shop. Keep an eye on our Gallery for further painted pieces.
